Adult Ministry Opportunities at STEP
Mentor with Jobs for Life:
Join us for a transformative time of building personal and professional relationships! Each mentor works with a student to encourage and uplift as the student overcomes roadblocks, defines career goals, and improves their resume and interviewing skills. The commitment of a mentor is for the ten weeks of class as well as maintaining a connection with the student for the following nine months. Classes run March-June and September-December of every year, and will meet Tuesday evenings from 6pm-8:00pm (dinner & childcare provided).
Serve on an Elevate Team:
"What Happens Next?" Every semester of STEP's Jobs for Life has ended with at least one student asking this question. "What happens to the relationships we've built, to the camaraderie and encouragement that has helped me move forward?" We now have an answer! Elevate Teams are formed around each Jobs for Life graduate and his or her family, to provide an on-ramp as the graduate works towards the next steps on his or her vocational plan. This is a wonderful opportunity to involve your whole family in ministry (children included!). Elevate meets once a month, on the third Thursday of each month.
Donate a reliable used vehicle:
Lack of transportation is one of the most common roadblocks standing between a Jobs for Life graduate and fulfilling employment. If you have a used vehicle with some life left on it and would like to donate it to STEP for a Jobs for Life graduate, please let us know!
Join our business network:
Provide resume and mock-interview feedback for Jobs for Life students and help connect them with employment opportunities! Also, if you are an employer looking to hire for entry-level positions, a financial advisor, or you are knowledgeable in growing credit scores, join our business network!
Provide a Meal:
Both Jobs for Life and Elevate rely heavily on relational capital. One way we build trust and grow in fellowship is through breaking bread together. If blessing others through food is near to your heart, click below to provide a meal to feed 30!
Enjoy workforce development and teaching? Consider instructing one of our Jobs for Life classes through the national acclaimed biblical curriculum we provide. Reach out for a brief interview, attend a class or two to get the jist, and join our wonderful instructing team!
