Jobs for Life Mentors

Jobs for Life is a biblically-based, 10-week, job-readiness class that meets on Tuesday evenings at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church (1627 Monument Ave) We pair each student with a mentor to walk with them through the class, providing encouragement and accountability. The Jobs for Life fall semester 2026 will begin September 1st, with mentor orientation on August 25th. Apply to mentor here. Can’t commit to a weekly class? Victory Reading Tutors

Victory Reading is an after-school reading program serving children Kindergarten-5th grade. Victory Reading meets Monday-Thursday from 3:45-5:45 during the school year at New Life Baptist Church (6229 Osborne Turnpike), and each day includes physical fitness time, snack, devotion, and small group reading activities. Tutors typically commit to one day a week and work with a group of 1-3 students. Apply to tutor here.

Lion Hearts Commanders (Trail Life Troop #7777)

Lion Hearts was inspired by a grandmother in Gilpin Court who reached out to STEP with a vision to teach character skills and provide biblical guidance to young men. Beginning with a few boys in early 2022, we have now taken steps to become a charter member of Trail Life USA, a biblically based national program. We need men to serve these boys as they continue to grow in number and stature! We encourage fathers and sons (2nd to 8th grade) to participate together. Summer Enrichment

It’s not too early to start thinking about summer! Summer Enrichment will be Mondays - Thursdays, June 29th - July 30th, 2026. Volunteers are needed to instruct and assist in skill-building activities and chaperone field trips. Please complete this application if you are interested!
